Jack Marriott has been the subject of interest from League One rivals but so far Fleetwood are standing firm while Stoke prospect David Okagbue is set for a move to League Two. 

Exclusive: Oxford bid for Jack Marriott rejected

Fleetwood have rejected a £400k bid from League One rivals Oxford United for Jack Marriott.

The former Derby forward scored eight goals in 19 appearances last season having moved from Peterborough in January.

Scoring seven in 28 over the first half of the season meant he finished the campaign with 15 goals from 47 games.

But he could yet move on again if the U’d raise their offer further.

Stoke City defender David Okagbue is set to join League Two Walsall on loan.

The 19-year-old from Ireland is yet appear to appear for the Potters but has been a regular for their Under-21s and also spent time on loan with Oldham last season.

Now, we understand a move to the League Two Saddlers is set to go through in a move which will further enhance Okagbue’s experience.

Sources: Everton pair set to move out on loan

TEAMtalk can reveal that Everton winger Stanley Mills is to join Oxford United on loan.

Mills, who is the son of former Leeds Utd and England defender Danny Mills, is highly regarded at Goodison Park.

The skilful winger joined Everton at the age of 14 from Leeds in the summer of 2018 and has progressed through the youth ranks at Goodison Park.

Mills – who scored an impressive 10 goals in just 15 appearances in the Premier League 2 last season – was on the bench for a number of Everton’s top flight matches last campaign.

However, the lively 19-year-old, who featured twice in the Carabao Cup last season, is set to move to League One Oxford.

Meanwhile, another Toffees youngster Lewis Warrington is in talks over a move to Plymouth Argyle, TEAMtalk understands.

The 20-year-old has featured for the Toffees in pre-season and was a starter in last weekend’s game at Wigan Athletic.

Warrington, who has come through the ranks at Goodison Park, has spent the last 18 months out on loan at Fleetwood Town and Tranmere Rovers respectively.

A number of clubs have made enquiries about Warrington this summer, but TEAMtalk can reveal that Championship new boys Plymouth are hoping to win the race for the midfielder’s signature.

TEAMtalk have been told that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has signed for Slask Wroclaw in Poland on a two-year-deal.

The former Manchester United defender, who made 10 Premier League appearances for the club, had been at Burton Albion for the last two seasons but is now on his way to Poland.
