Transfer pundit gives insight on Napoli star’s €200m Liverpool links

Liverpool’s reported interest in Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne has been questioned by one transfer pundit.

Klopp has still not replaced Philippe Coutinho, who moved to Barcelona last January, but the latest report from Italy claims Klopp is still on the lookout for a No.10.

The Reds almost signed Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir in the summer for around £50million, but that deal fell through at the final hurdle when apparently something in his medical was flagged up.

Fekir though has been flying for Lyon with three goals and three assists in eight games and there have been suggestions that Klopp could revisit that transfer in January.

Rai Sport though claim that Klopp is ready to make a move for Napoli winger Insigne, who recently lauded Reds star Roberto Firmino.

“I’m not really buying this one,” ESPN FC pundit Gabriele Marcotti said.

“I think well Napoli obviously under Sarri was a high-pressing team, the way Liverpool press is very different. A lot more is required in terms of stamina and flat-out pace.

“I think Mane and Salah are ahead of Insigne on this one. So I just don’t see him as a great fit. So I’m not on board with this.”
