Transfer target of Leeds admits Bielsa’s side have caught his eye

Reported Leeds transfer target Jarrod Bowen has admitted he has been highly-impressed by what he has seen of the Whites’ football under Marcelo Bielsa this season.

The Hull City forward was tipped up as a potential target for United over the summer, with the Yorkshire Evening Post suggesting he was a player director of football Victor Orta had looked at prior to the capture of Patrick Bamford.

But while a move for the 21-year-old never materialised, the player will get a chance to see his suitors in action close up when second-in-the-table Leeds travel to the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday night.

And Bowen has admitted he has been impressed by the performances Leeds have put on under Bielsa’s watchful eye.

“They look very good, don’t they,” Bowen told the Hull Daily Mail when asked about Leeds.

“We knew Middlesbrough (with whom Hull shared a 1-1 draw on Saturday) was going to be a hard game and know Tuesday will be too.

“We will just play our game and I don’t think anyone can stop us, on our day, when everyone is singing and dancing.”

Since Hull’s relegation from the Premier League in 2017, Bowen has been arguably the Tigers’ standout performer, with the Leominster-born star netting 18 goals over the last 54 appearances.

Bielsa, meanwhile, has attempted to take some of the heat off Leeds’ stand-in frontman Tyler Roberts by defending the young forward’s performances.
