Bayern Munich and Juventus have joined Inter Milan in the race for Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, according to a report.
Alonso has largely impressed at Chelsea since joining from Fiorentina in 2016, with his best years coming under Antonio Conte’s management.
However, this season, he has struggled for regular gametime – thanks in part to the development of Emerson Palmieri in his position – and has consequently been linked with a return to Italy.
It was claimed before January that Conte could look to reunite with Alonso at Inter Milan, before the Italian tactician opted to take Ashley Young from Manchester United instead.
Now, Italian publication Calciomercato reveal that Alonso is still on Conte’s wishlist at the San Siro – but Bayern Munich and Juventus are also interested.
Serie A champions Juventus will benefit from the return of youngster Luca Pellegrini from his loan spell at Cagliari in the summer, but are currently struggling for depth at left-back, with Alex Sandro their main recognised option.
As for Bayern, Canadian teenager Alphonso Davies has emerged at left-back this season, prompting David Alaba to be used more centrally, while Lucas Hernandez has not featured since October.
Alonso, who has made six starts in the Premier League this season (none of which have come in 2020), remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2023, so it remains to be seen how easily the Blues would let him go.
