Trusted journalist gives response to Newcastle hopes of Willock deal

A trusted journalist has given a three-word update on Newcastle’s pursuit of a permanent deal for loan star Joe Willock this summer.

Steve Bruce recently admitted that he would ‘love’ the opportunity to bring in the Arsenal man on a full-time contract. To that end, the Magpies are expected to pursue a deal, if the Gunners make the midfielder available for transfer.

But when asked by a Newcastle fan on Twitter if he thinks the club will sign Willock, journalist Nixon simply responded that it would be ‘down to price’.

At this stage it remains a waiting game, with five games of the Premier League season remaining.

Willock has scored some vital goals for Newcastle this season, including strikes against Southampton, Tottenham and Burnley. He was at it again in stoppage time at Anfield as he netted in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Bruce will be hoping that Arsenal are reasonable in their valuation of the 21-year-old. However, a report on Sunday suggested that may not be the case, with the Gunners wanting £20m figures for fringe men Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah.

Newcastle in hunt for Young Boys star

Swiss champions Young Boys are attracting major interest from the Premier League and Scottish Premiership, with their star African trio Jean-Pierre Nsame, Moumi Ngamaleu and Mohamed Ali Camara the main point of interest.

Young Boys have become the dominant force in Switzerland and their progress has been outstanding under highly-rated coach Gerardo Seoane. With that in mind, TEAMtalk can reveal that three of their top stars could be bound for Britain this summer.

Striker Nsame has been in brilliant form for Young Boys since joining from Servette in 2017. He began his career with Angers in France.

The 27-year-old Cameroon international has scored 78 goals in 118 games, making him one of the most consistent attackers in European football.

We understand he has emerged on the summer target list of Newcastle, Southampton and West Ham – as well as Celtic.

Winger Ngamaleu, 26, who also plays for Cameroon, features predominantly on the left but can play either side. He has been watched by Leeds, Brighton, Everton, Leicester and Rangers.

Central defender Ali Camara has a host of teams looking at him too. The Guinea stopper has been an impressive presence at the heart of the Young Boys defence.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, West Ham, and newly promoted Norwich are amongst the teams keeping tabs on him.
