Two PL teams lodge €150m bids for Real Madrid playmaker

Marco Asensio has been the subject of two €150million bids from the Premier League, according to the player’s agent.

The Real Madrid man, who is hoping to start tomorrow’s Champions League final against Liverpool, has been in and out of the team this season.

The 22-year-old, who started the second leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich, has started in just 19 of his 32 La Liga appearances this term and that has led to speculation that he may move on in the summer.

Diario Gol reported that five clubs were chasing the playmaker, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Juventus and Bayern Munich are understood to be the other teams that have enquired about the player in the last 12 months.

Don Balon claimed Chelsea had a £132million bid turned down for him in March, whilst also claiming the month before that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was ready to fork out €£131million as he was ‘in love’ with the player.

And his agent Horacio Gaggioli has said little to quell the talk.

“Madrid have received two offers for Marco Asensio, up to €150m, but the club rejected them,” he told Cadena SER.

“You can imagine that they come from England because they can afford it without any problems. They could even raise it.”

Asensio, who is under contract until 2023, arrived at Madrid from Mallorca in 2014, although he has only spent the past two seasons at the club after a loan spell at Espanyol.
