Manchester United and Manchester City will reportedly do battle for Kasper Schmeichel in the summer.

The Sun claims the 30-year-old Leicester keeper “is ready to spark a major transfer scramble after changing agent”.

Schmeichel has ditched his agent Kenny Shepherd to team up with Italian representative Luca Bascherini, who is believed to be well connected at Old Trafford.

Schmeichel only signed a new five-year contract with the champions last August, but his change of agent is believed to signal his intentions of moving away from the King Power.

Man City are understood toe be looking for a new keeper with Claudio Bravo not convincing since he arrived at The Etihad, while United will need a replacement for David de Gea if the Spain star moves to Real Madrid.

The report claims Schmeichel is “now high on boss Jose Mourinho’s shortlist of potential replacements” but United have also been linked with a move for City loanee Joe Hart.

City though could offer Hart to Leicester in exchange for Schmeichel with the Danish No.1 believed to be looking for a new challenge.
