Manchester United could reportedly make a January move for rising Leeds star Charlie Taylor following Luke Shaw’s double leg fracture.

Shaw suffered the horrific injury in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and is expected to be ruled out for at least six months.

United boss Louis van Gaal has sent his scouts to watch the Leeds defender in action several times already this season and is now considering firming up his initial interest by making a firm £6million bid in January, according to the Daily Star.

Taylor, 21, has emerged as one of the brightest prospects outside the top flight following a string of impressive displays for Uwe Rosler’s men, where he has been arguably their most consistent player this season.

He has had spells at Bradford, York and Fleetwood since making his Leeds debut back in 2011.

But the left-back is now establishing himself in Rosler’s side and has earned rave reviews this season.

In the meantime, United boss Van Gaal has a issue to solve in terms of whom he fills in for Shaw as United’s left-back – with his options considered in this article.
