‘United target’ won’t be moving to Real Madrid, say Wolfsburg

Ricardo Rodriguez: Defender linked with Prem move

Wolfsburg managing director Klaus Allofs has poured cold water on rumours linking reported Manchester United target Ricardo Rodriguez with a move to Real Madrid.

Rodriguez has long been mentioned as a possible target for Real and news of the club’s impending FIFA transfer ban has heightened speculation that the La Liga giants will move for the left-back sooner rather than later.

The Swiss star has also been mentioned as a possible target for Manchester United following the serious injury suffered by Luke Shaw earlier this season, but Wolfsburg are adamant they will not be selling Rodriguez.

When asked about the prospect of Rodriguez moving to the Bernabeu, Allofs said: “You can forget it, we certainly will not be doing that.”

Wolfsburg signed Rodriguez from FC Zurich in 2012 and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best full-backs in the Bundesliga.
