Van Gaal fires fresh dig at Man Utd and Jose Mourinho

Louis van Gaal has once again hit out at the way in which Manchester United handled his sacking – and also has some further words of criticism for Jose Mourinho.
Van Gaal was dismissed after two years in the Old Trafford hotseat in the summer of 2016, with Mourinho since leading United to two trophies in his first season and getting the club challenging near the top of the Premier League table again.
The Dutchman believes that his sacking was handled badly, and that his successor is guilty of letting himself go out of control.
“How I have suspected it, the way his transfer as a manager to Manchester United went was not elegant at all,” said Van Gaal.
“That resulted in my sacking.
“In principle, he is not a bad guy. He can be sympathetic and he was this way when he was my assistant in the past.
“But he lets himself go out of control too often.”
Van Gaal was at Anfield on Saturday, and received a warm welcome from the club and their supporters.
“I have great memories and my relationship with all the staff and fans was great during my time at United,” he said.
“Our CEO Ed Woodward promised me six bottles of Ribeiro red wine every time I would beat Liverpool.
“Well, I won four times, so I had a lot of those bottles.”
