Verratti ruled out with injury
The Paris St Germain midfielder left Italy’s training headquarters in Coverciano, Florence, on Wednesday morning and will return to Paris to continue to recover from a left adductor strain.
A statement from Italy’s Football Federation (FIGC) said: “Marco Verratti will return to France to continue the necessary treatment to recovery from an insertional tendinopathy of his left adductor that had prevented him from training since Monday.”
The 22-year-old Verratti, who has scored one goal in 10 appearances for Italy, is expected to recover in time for PSG’s Champions League Group F match against Ajax on November 25.
Italy host Croatia on Sunday at the San Siro with both teams level at the top of Group H with nine points.
Antonio Conte’s side takes on Albania two days later in Genoa.
