Villarreal v Liverpool Europa League semi-final 1st leg preview

Kolo Toure: Liverpool exit set to be confirmed

Kolo Toure: Former Liverpool defender heading to Celtic

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho remains unavailable for selection after his failed drugs test so Kolo Toure is set to keep his place to face Villarreal in their Europa League semi-final first leg in Spain.

Striker Christian Benteke has travelled with the squad but has not played for more than a month because of a knee injury and is likely to only be on the bench.

With Jordan Henderson and Emre Can injured, Lucas Leiva and James Milner will play in central midfield.

Villarreal coach Marcelino can almost call upon a fully fit squad. Only Leo Baptistao is missing as Jaume Costa and Mateo Mussachio passed late fitness tests.

In form strikers Roberto Soldado and Cedric Bakambu are fit and ready to lead the line and skipper Bruno is set to lead his side out at El Madrigal.

Villarreal have a strong home record throughout their Europa League campaign. The Yellow Submarine have won every game in Europe at El Madrigal, conceding just one goal.

Liverpool squad: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Milner, Lucas, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge, Ward, Skrtel, Smith, Allen, Brannagan, Chirivella, Ojo, Ibe, Benteke.
