Viola director blasts Inter over Salah
Salah has declined Fiorentina offer of an improved contract to stay at Stadio Artemio Franchi for another season, and the Serie A club confirmed on Friday they were seeking legal advice, believing the Chelsea winger is contractually obliged to stay with them for 2015-16 as part of the agreement he signed upon joining.
Inter Milan have since been linked with Salah, leading Viola director Paolo Panerai to suggest on Twitter that the Nerazzurri “should be in Serie B” for their failure to observe Financial Fair Play regulations.
“[UEFA president Michel] Platini knows that Inter are not respecting FFP, for Salah and for their other multi-million purchases. Now is the time for exemplary action to be taken,” Panerai wrote.
Fiorentina responded with a statement published on their official website, distancing themselves from Panerai’s remarks.
“With regards to the remarks made by the administration’s advisor Dr Panerai, ACF Fiorentina would like to make it clear that these were purely personal considerations which were not agreed with the club,” read the statement.
Salah scored six goals in 16 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season after joining on loan from Chelsea in January.
