Alexis Sanchez & Mesut Ozil: Have two years left on Arsenal deals

Arsene Wenger has insisted Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez remain keen to stay at Arsenal amid reports the duo are stalling on signing new deals.

Reports on Tuesday suggested the Gunners pair faced uncertain futures at the club and were seeking assurances that Arsenal were willing to strengthen their squad ahead of a Premier League title assault next season.

Sanchez has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich and his Chile team-mate Arturo Vidal went as far as urging the player to consider a summer move to the Allianz Arena.

However, speaking in his press conference on Wednesday to preview Thursday’s Premier League clash with West Brom, Wenger insisted: “Both player remain in talks and are keen to stay. The mood among fans can change very quickly.”

Wednesday’s papers suggested Arsenal were also looking at a summer move for Riyad Mahrez, but Wenger was quick to play down the speculation.

When asked if he was interested in the Leicester star, the Frenchman replied: “No, even if it was I wouldn’t talk about it this stage of the season.”
