Arsene Wenger was happy with how Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are settling in at Arsenal following their comfortable win against Everton.

A hat-trick from Aaron Ramsey plus further goals from Laurent Koscielny and Aubameyang helped the Gunners to a 5-1 victory over the Toffees with Dominic Calvert-Lewin getting their consolation in the second half.

“We had more penetration, a quicker and sharper game, we had a different focus to Tuesday [The defeat to Swansea],” Wenger told BBC Sport.

“It was a repetition of the Crystal Palace game, when we were 4-0 up after 20 minutes. I believe the speed of our game was very good, good finishing as well.”

On how his new signings have quickly settled in to the side, Wenger added:”It is very early, but they look to have the quality to integrate into the game we want to play. They are quick, have sharp movement and agile and want the ball. It is very good and positive signs.”

When asked about benching Alexandre Lacazette, Wenger continued: “I am very happy with him. We could not afford to let Giroud, Walcott and Sanchez go and bring no one in. That is impossible. In the Europa League Aubameyang can not play, there are all kinds of possibilities to give everyone games.”
