Wenger ‘will sign two-year Arsenal extension’

Arsene Wenger: Happy that Arsenal fans are happy

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is staying at The Emirates and will sign a two-year extension, according to a report.

The Daily Star Sunday claims that club sponsors and business associates of the Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis are convinced Arsenal will announce that the Frenchman has penned a new two-year deal.

The Gunners face Crystal Palace on Monday night still fighting for a top-four finish and with Wenger’s future still up in the air.

After the defeat at West Brom last month Wenger revealed he had made a decision on his future but refused to reveal his decision.

Wenger said he will announce his plans “very soon”, but since then he has been guarded over the situation and last week claimed: “The subject that is not sorted completely.”

There have been reports suggesting Wenger will stay on in north London and now today’s report suggests “there is no appetite for change among the club’s hierarchy”.
