Wenger reveals true feelings ahead of final Arsenal game
Arsene Wenger admitted it felt “strange” to be leaving Arsenal after 22 years at the club ahead of his last game in charge against Huddersfield.
In his final pre-match press conference at the Gunners’ London Colney training ground, the Frenchman said he would take time to decide on his future and reconnect with his emotions when the season draws to a close.
“It’s very strange,” Wenger said. “You can say it’s sad but if you look in an objective way for 22 years you have a privilege to manage (Arsenal). That’s how I look at it.
“I will try to do my job until the last minute I work here and then think about the future. Sitting in front of you I don’t think of it as my last press conference as I have the game against Huddersfield in mind.”

When asked if he felt emotional at the end of his reign as Arsenal boss, he added: “I am very passionate and at a very young age I realised I had to get in control of my emotions or I would not survive.
“When I finish here I can reconnect a bit and with who I am really.”
