Liverpool handed Timo Werner boost, as Klopp holds talks with €60m man

Liverpool have been given a major lift in their pursuit of Timo Werner, according to a reliable source.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a huge admirer of the Red Bull Leipzig striker and the feeling is known to by mutual.
Tuttosport (via Inside Futbol), recently claimed Werner has his heart set on a move to Merseyside. The report claimed that the 24-year-old had snubbed interest from other interested parties and wants to play under Klopp.
Werner said of Klopp and Liverpool’s style of play earlier this year: “I know that Liverpool is the best team at the moment in the world and when you are linked with that team it makes me very proud.
“It’s a pleasure but I know that Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself and I need to learn many more things to get to that level and to play there.”
Now though David Ornstein says the player has spoken to Klopp, but also to Manchester United and Barcelona. However, according to The Athletic, Liverpool are the only club Werner is willing to sign for this summer.
The outlet also claim that Werner has no interest in moving to any other club apart from the Reds, and if that does not happen then he will remain at Leipzig and address his future in 2021.
German publication Bild (via Sport Witness) have been pushing the Werner to Liverpool for the last six months or more and earlier this week they reiterated their thinking.
The German source are confident that Liverpool will sign the striker this summer with Klopp “willing” for Liverpool to pay the €60m which would be required for the transfer, and which Ornstein states ends on June 15.
Werner scored 27 goals in 36 games for Leipzig before the season was halted in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
