West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has given his thoughts after his side drew 0-0 with Fulham on Tuesday evening.

The result leaves West Brom four points ahead of third-placed Brentford who could close the gap to just a point with a win against Preston on Wednesday.

Brentford are on a phenomenal run since the restart, winning six out of six – the only side to do so. Understandably – the pressure is cranking up on Albion.

Despite this, Bilic remains confident in his side.

“Everything is in our hands. We started the restart a bit slower, were a bit unlucky in first couple of games but after that, in last five games, we are creating and dominating.

“We are in good form, playing good football. That’s where I have my optimism and belief.

“I’m very proud with the way we played.

“We defended well and in the second half, we kept the shape and composure and created more than enough chances. We just couldn’t score but the composure, mentality, passion and quality made me really proud.

“It would be better if we had won the game of course but it’s one game less to go and it’s in our hands.

“There is no point watching it (Brentford v Preston), it will only make me nervous, I’m going to be big Preston fan of course.”

Anything but a Brentford win would not only ease the pressure on West Brom ahead of their final two games (Huddersfield away and QPR at home), but would open up the chance for Leeds United to seal promotion with a win Thursday, when the Whites face Barnsley.

Preston themselves are still in the fight for a play-off spot so will certainly be no pushover for Brentford. After Cardiff and Millwall both picked up wins on Tuesday, a win for Preston is crucial – it would move them back to two points away from sixth.
