West Bromwich Albion have agreed a deal with West Ham to sign Grady Diangana on a permanent basis – and reports claim they are also interested in a Chelsea forward.
The Baggies are currently preparing for their first season back in the Premier League in three years. So far, their only signing has been to acquire Matheus Pereira on a permanent basis after his loan spell last year.
Now, they are set to permanently sign another player they had on loan last year, in the shape of Diangana.
The winger scored eight goals and added six assists from 30 appearances in their successful quest for promotion from the Championship last season. And their hopes of keeping him on a permanent basis have increased.
Various sources indicate that West Ham have accepted a bid for Diangana. According to the Telegraph, West Brom offered £12m for his services.
However, add-ons they could actually pay closer to £20m for the England Under-21 international. That could make Diangana the most expensive signing in West Brom’s history.
Grady Diangana heading to West Brom after agreeing deal with West Ham – just short of £20million. Played a huge part in promotion push for The Baggies, but why on earth are West Ham allowing a talent like him to leave?

Reports had suggested they were facing competition from elsewhere for his signature. But they now seem to be close to retaining his services on a permanent basis.
West Ham, meanwhile, are looking to raise funds via selling players in order to ensure David Moyes can afford the transfer targets he wants to sign.
Declan Rice is their most highly-valued asset, and Chelsea want to sign him. However, West Ham would prefer to keep him, so are looking to sell a number of squad players instead.
Baggies eye Batshuayi
Meanwhile, West Brom are also interested in Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Football Insider.
The website claims that West Brom have asked Chelsea if they can sign Batshuayi on a season-long loan. The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and the Blues will be open to offers this summer.
While they could consider a loan, they would prefer to sell him on a permanent basis. The Belgium international is out of contract next summer, so Chelsea need to agree a sale before then to avoid losing him for free.
The Blues ideally want to recoup around £22.6m for Batshuayi, who has scored 25 goals in 77 games for them since joining in 2016.
West Brom are in the market for a centre-forward, and Batshuayi is reportedly one of their main targets. The Telegraph‘s report adds that Watford’s Troy Deeney and Huddersfield’s Karlan Grant are also on their radar.
The Baggies are working around a transfer budget in the region of £25m.
