West Brom leading charge to sign former England goalkeeper

West Brom are reported to be the latest side interested in signing Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The keeper will depart the Lancashire club on June 30, after the Premier League outfit decided against offering the 33-year-old a new contract.

Hart’s career highlight is winning the Premier League with Manchester City in 2012 and he has a very respectable 75 caps for England. However, since joining Burnley at the start of the 2018/19 season, he has struggled to nail down the No 1 spot in Sean Dyche’s side, with Nick Pope ahead of him in the pecking order.

Despite the lack of first-team football over the last two years, he still appears to have plenty of suitors. West Brom join Celtic, Southampton and a host of MLS clubs that are rumoured to be interested in the goalkeeper.

Hart has made no secret of his desire to be back playing regular first team football, and still believes in his ability.

When asked about his future recently, he said: “All I want to do is be a big part of something,

“I understand I’m not going to be part of Real Madrid. I don’t think I’ve lost the ability, but I know how football works.

“I just want to be a big part of a club and give my all to them. That’s all that burns through me.”

A move to the Hawthorns would see Hart compete with Sam Johnstone. The former Man Utd keeper has divided opinion among Baggies fans and Hart would fancy his chances of taking his place.
