West Ham reveal eye-watering demands for Man Utd, Chelsea target Rice

West Ham will only listen to offers of more than £100m for Declan Rice this summer, it has been claimed.

Rice is West Ham’s most valuable commodity after establishing himself as a key player over the past couple of seasons.

He was a top target for Chelsea, whom he used to represent as a youth player, last summer. However, the Blues could not meet West Ham’s asking price.

Rice has also been linked with Manchester United for several months. Those rumours resurfaced recently, with one pundit urging the Red Devils to let Jesse Lingard join west Ham permanently as a counterweight in a bid for Rice.

However, it would have to be a cash-plus-player bid due to how highly West Ham value the 22-year-old. The extent of their valuation has now emerged.

According to talkSPORT‘s Jim White, West Ham want a nine-figure offer before they would even consider selling Rice.

White said: “[West Ham co-owner David] Sullivan has already told me it’s got to be north of £100m or they won’t entertain it.

“We’ll wait and see what happens with that.”

Rice has played every single minute of West Ham’s Premier League campaign so far. His form has helped them mount an unlikely challenge for the European places.

The Hammers are currently in the top four after 25 games. That puts them above one of Rice’s suitors, Chelsea, and only four points behind the other, Man Utd.

Rice optimistic about Champions League challenge

There is still a long way to go before West Ham can dream of Europe. However, Rice recently admitted they are thinking about that potential success.

The England international believes the next few games will be pivotal to whether they can finish in the European places or not – but is confident they can.

“100 per cent, definitely I think I would be wrong to sit here and say that’s not something I am thinking about,” he told talkSPORT. “I want to be in those places now, this is where this club deserves to be.

“It is a massive club, we’ve got the quality like I said and that’s where we need to be pushing.

“I think the next four games are going to define that. We have got City, then Leeds, then United and Arsenal.”
