West Ham leading race to land Liverpool star in January loan deal

Liverpool are reportedly ready to let Danny Ings leave on loan in January, with West Ham favourites to land the striker.

The 25-year-old is still on the recovery trail after having had two knee operations and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants him to get some serious game time before eventually returning to full-time action for the Anfield club.

New Hammers boss David Moyes is said to be a fan of the Burnley hitman and tried to sign him when he was in charge at Real Sociedad.

Ings would be arguably be the perfect short-term fix for the struggling London outfit as they look to get out of relegation trouble.

The need for a striker at the London Stadium could be more serious now after Javier Hernandez suffered a hamstring injury on international duty with Mexico, although at this stage it is not clear how serious the injury is.

Newcastle and Bournemouth are also said to be keen on the 25-year-old but the report in the Sun on Sunday states that West Ham, lead the chase.
