Issa Diop has laughed off transfer speculation linking the West Ham man to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 21-year-old centre-back has quickly established himself in the Premier League with the Hammers and after being an unused sub for the season’s opening two games, Diop has started all nine top-flight matches since for the Hammers.
The French centre-back’s impressive form after moving from Toulouse in a £22m switch last summer has alerted PSG, who are keen to bolster their ranks of talented young French players, according to the report in the Daily Mail.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions believe, however, that they could face competition from Manchester United for the player after Jose Mourinho labelled Diop a ‘monster’ when his team lost at the London Stadium earlier in the season.
For the moment though Diop is happy with life in London.
“A departure to PSG this winter? Frankly, I do not know at all, I learned the information like you, it was sent to me via social networks,” said Diop.
“If my agent knows? Maybe, you have to see with him. I’m very good at West Ham, I enjoy discovering the Premier League every weekend,” he added, laughing.
