Reece Oxford: Rejected a new deal with West Ham.

West Ham starlet Reece Oxford is in line to join Charlton Athletic on loan, sources have told TEAMtalk.com.

TEAMtalk.com revealed earlier this month that West Ham were willing to let several youngsters, including Oxford to go out on loan to get first-team action under their belts.

Oxford is highly-regarded at Upton Park after making his Premier League debut in the win over Arsenal on the opening weekend of the season and keeping his place for the following match against Leicester.

The 17-year-old has made eight appearances for West Ham so far this season, with his last outing coming in the FA Cup win over Wolves at the start of January.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic feels the classy defender will be best served to go out on loan to get some first-team experience and continue his development.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Oxford, but West Ham are happy to let him join Charlton as it means the player will not have to leave London and they can keep close tabs on his progress.

Charlton are struggling to avoid relegation from the Championship and they see Oxford as someone who can help shore up their backline.
