Who’s asking now?

We were all to quick to judge Mick, says FanZone’s Stuart

Wolves 2-0 Burnley: doubters answered (me included). End of.

Yes, Wolves fans, many of us may have questioned Mick from 7.30pm on Tuesday evening up to 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon, but he come 3.30pm Sunday there were very few questions left to answer.

Our first Premier League win by more than one goal this season, our highest league position in the Premiership EVER, our first home clean sheet and the last time any of us should be too quick to judge the gaffer!

Merry Christmas Wolves fans and thanks to Super Mick and the boys for delivering the Christmas cheer.

I know it’s not May and I’m not going to get carried away but it’s Christmas and this time six years ago we were sitting bottom of the Premiership fovepoints adrift of safety with a goal difference of -22. Reason to be cheerful, I believe!

Unspectacular

So my prediction of nine changes was right, I just got the wrong right midfielder and as Mick says, who’s asking questions now?

And wasn’t it great to see our player of the season back in the starting line-up! Kevin Doyle? £6million? What a snip and what a coup for Wolves; his goals will keep us up, you mark my words.

I saw our performance described as ‘safe, solid and unspectacular’; I’ll take a 2-0 unspectacular performance every week.

We need to survive and then look at the spectacular angle later. Twelfth in the Premier League, as the players who may look to move on in January will see it, looks far better than being in the relegation zone.

The price of Wolves’ stock has gone up considerably in football terms, maybe we can grab a few players with proven experience that may complete Mick’s jigsaw.

Anyway, what will be more interesting for the outside world is no doubt what teams Mick chooses to play against Liverpool and then Man City (only 48 hours apart). Whatever you do Mick, you have this fan’s unequivocal support.

Four points from the next three games will do me fine, anything else is a bonus.

Come on you Wolves!
