Wolves have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Angers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri on a permanent basis following his successful loan stint at the club last season.

The 20-year-old moved to Molineux from the French club on October 30 last year. He made 16 starts among 21 Premier League outings and bagged his first goal in professional football against Crystal Palace. The France Under-21 ace enjoyed 24 appearances in all competitions and impressed those at the West Midlands club.

With Nuno Espirito Santo having left, it was not clear if the talented youngster was still on the radar. But it appears as though Wolves have seen enough and feel he is a player who can make a difference.

It has been reported that the Premier League outfit will pay around £10m for the former Paris FC youth player. But Molineux bosses have negotiated a deal that has helped them protect their asset.

Angers have a 50 per cent sell-on clause in the deal. But Wolves have inserted a buyout clause should they wish to get rid of the sell-on in a few years time.

There has been no official confirmation of the signing but multiple outlets are suggesting it will come in the next few days.

Lage keeping it young with Ait-Nouri capture

New Wolves chief Bruno Lage has already made one signing as 20-year-old Colombian youngster Yerson Mosquera is on board. However, it is unlikely that the Portuguese tactician had much to to with the acquisition.

Wolves technical director Scott Sellars said on the club website: “We have been monitoring Yerson for quite a while and there has been a lot of interest from clubs across Europe, including some of the biggest names in the Premier League.

Transfer Chatter - Ben White transfer saga update, Kane departure up to Nuno and Manchester United and Real Madrid's forward battle

Everton are ready to bid for Brighton defender Ben White, Tottenham will not sell Harry Kane without Nuno Espirito Santo's confirmation and Manchester Unitedwill battle Real Madrid for Everton forward, all in today's transfer chatter.

“They all see his potential and quality, as do we. But we spoke to him about the pathway we have at the club and he believes Wolves is the best fit for him.”

It remains to be seen how much game time Mosquera gets but Ait-Nouri can expect to see plenty of action. He already has a season of English top-flight football under his belt and will be better and wiser for it.

It seems likely that there will be other players arriving before the new campaign gets under way. The Black Country club have been linked with Burney defender James Tarkowski.
