Wolves made stunning €60million summer bid for star Serie A midfielder
AC Milan rejected a mega €60million bid for star midfielder Franck Kessie from Premier League newcomers Wolves, a report claims.
Kessie joined Serie A giants Milan on a two-year loan deal with the obligation to buy from rivals Atalanta last summer, and impressed in his first season at San Siro.
The midfielder featured for the Rossoneri 37 times last season including appearances in the Europa League and scored five goals.
Wolves meanwhile were in the mood to splash the cash this summer following their return to the Premier League, bringing in seven players including Adama Traore in an £18m deal from Middlesbrough.
According to an exclusive from Calciomercato.com, the Black Country club made a huge offer for the Ivory Coast international made up of an initial €40m fee with €20m in bonuses.
However, the Rossoneri were not interested in selling the 21-year-old, who also apparently attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.
Milan have subsequently been in contract negotiations with Kessie and his entourage over the past few weeks in order to formalise a new deal on higher wages.
