Wolves snub chance to sign Man Utd target in Jimenez swap offer

Raul Jimenez

Wolves have rejected a bid from Juventus for Raul Jimenez, despite being offered the chance to sign Aaron Ramsey in return.

Juventus are in the market for a new striker this summer, and two Premier League names are on their shortlist – Jimenez and Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via the Daily Star), they have now made their first move for the former. However, Wolves have turned it down.

The Italian paper claims that Juventus presented two cash-plus-player bids to Wolves for Jimenez. One included Gonzalo Higuain, and the other included Ramsey.

The Welsh midfielder is likely to leave Juventus after just one season. That’s because incoming manager Andrea Pirlo wants to revamp the middle of the park at the Allianz Stadium.

Ramsey has been linked with a move to Man Utd, while Everton have also shown an interest. However, Wolves turned down the chance to sign him – because they do not feel Juventus’ package met Jimenez’s valuation.

Despite the striker being 29, Wolves still rate him in the £90m bracket. Indeed, with 27 goals this season, he is still well in his prime.

Juventus’ cash-plus-player offers did not meet that price. Therefore, Wolves are holding firm.

MAN UTD ALSO LINKED WITH JIMENEZ

Man Utd themselves have also shown an interest in Jimenez. However, they recently denied that they had agreed a deal for him.

Some pundits believe United need to add another striker this summer. That’s despite Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood impressing this season.

Jimenez has proven he can succeed in the Premier League. However, Wolves will not be letting him leave on the cheap.
