Noam Emeran has revealed why he decided to join Manchester United after the Red Devils won the race for the highly-rated Amiens youngster.
United were competing with Barcelona and PSG for the signature of the 16-year-old French winger, who has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at Old Trafford.
The left-footer will join up with Nicky Butt’s academy before any involvement with the first team.
Emeran told Le Parisien why he rejected the advances of PSG and Barca in favour of United.
“Manchester United were more convincing than Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona,” he said.
“The choice was made with my family and with my lawyer.”
Emeran counts current United winger Anthony Martial as one of his idols, and was recently given some advice by a former Old Trafford great – Wayne Rooney.
“He told me: a player’s career choice ends up being good or bad depending on his determination,” Emeran revealed.
“I understood that I needed to demand more from myself.
“I’m living a dream, but I need to stay grounded because the final goal is far from being reached. I’ll need to work even harder to make it at Manchester United.”
