The centre-half has been sidelined recently with an ankle injury but came on as a late substitute for James McPake in the 1-0 victory over Doncaster on Boxing Day.

Chris Coleman revealed after the game that McPake was suffering from cramp in his calf and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit to feature at the City Ground.

In-form striker Freddy Eastwood may miss out after playing 80 minutes against Doncaster despite struggling with an illness. Clinton Morrison is likely to be handed a start should Coleman decide to hand Eastwood a rest.

Sammy Clingan is set to be named among the substitutes again as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken toe.

But defenders Marcus Hall (calf), Ben Turner (ankle), Jordan Clarke (knee), midfielder Isaac Osbourne (knee) and goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos are all set to remain on the sidelines.
