Wycombe hope Sam Saunders will be available to face Cheltenham.

The Brentford loanee tweaked his hamstring during training last Sunday and missed their 1-0 defeat to Burton and the Chairboys will monitor the winger and hope he can take his place back in the line-up.

Manager-of-the-month for March Gareth Ainsworth, who was only able to name five players on the bench, is likely to stick with Aaron Holloway if Saunders is not available.

And he could be boosted by the return of Matt McClure after a spell on the sidelines with a calf strain.

Cheltenham have been handed a pre-match injury blow with the news Will Packwood will miss out.

The Birmingham loanee will sit out the next three matches having sustained a hamstring injury so Gary Johnson will need to make changes to his back four as he searches for his first win since taking charge.

So that means captain Matt Taylor could be recalled or Johnson may turn to Pablo Mills or Jack Deaman.

Mathieu Manset was just suffering from cramp against Stevenage and will be involved once more as the Robins look for a shock three points to boost their survival hopes.

Jon-Paul Pittman is unlikely to feature for Wycombe when they host Cheltenham.

The former Crawley forward rolled his ankle in training this week leaving his participation in the match, which sees the Chairboys attempt to bounce back from their last-gasp midweek loss, in real doubt.

That 2-1 defeat to Swindon, which came thanks to a goal four minutes into added time, was cruel on a Wycombe side who had taken the lead through Matt McClure, who will hope to keep his place despite taking a knock to the head.

Paris Cowan-Hall was not risked after limping off at half-time against Crewe last Saturday with a calf injury and he may come into contention to face Mark Yates’ men.

Jermaine McGlashan is likely to miss out for Cheltenham at Wycombe.

The winger has a hamstring injury and manager Mark Yates is not keen to risk him with back-to-back home games on the horizon.

Yates’ side are on a three-game unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two but suffered a shock FA Cup exit at the hands of non-league Tamworth last weekend.

And if Yates decides to ring the changes at Adams Park then the likes of Steve Elliott and Ashley Vincent may come into contention.

Alan Bennett is Cheltenham’s only absentee as they travel to Wycombe desperate for a positive response to their first defeat of the season last weekend.

Defender Bennett tweaked his calf in training on Monday and misses out at Adams Park, although manager Mark Yates has an otherwise fully-fit squad to select from.

Midfielder Darren Carter played for Town’s reserves in midweek and is one of a couple of players firmly in contention for a starting berth.

Yates, however, has stressed there will not be wholesale changes despite the 3-0 home defeat to Accrington, admitting he picked the wrong team and formation for the encounter.

“There is a temptation to make changes but we won’t make knee-jerk reactions,” Yates told the club’s official website. “I know my team is good enough and we’ll pick a team for the right reasons. We may freshen it up in one or two areas.

“We trusted each other on and off the pitch last season and it is the same with this group of players and I won’t drop people for the sake of it. Sometimes you need to change it and sometimes players need to be given another chance, so I’ll do what I see fit.”

Wycombe have lost Matt McClure and Adam Thompson to international duty.

McClure, who recently recovered from a knee problem, and Watford loanee Thompson are away with Northern Ireland’s Under-21 squad.

Boss Gary Waddock is already without defensive trio Danny Foster, Anthony Stewart and Marvin McCoy.

Foster played for the reserves in midweek as he battles back from a knee injury but the game is expected to come too soon for him, while Stewart is a major doubt with a dead leg and McCoy is out for two months with an ankle injury.

Waddock will hand on-loan defender Matt Parsons a home debut at left-back while Jo Kuffour could be handed a full debut in attack, but Matt Bloomfield is again a doubt with a groin injury.

Wycombe will be without Andy Sandell.

The left-back had to be replaced early in the second half of the Chairboys’ 2-1 defeat at Rochdale on Saturday after picking up a shoulder injury during the first period.

Right-back Marvin McCoy replaced Sandell and could be in line for a place in the XI with versatile defender Danny Foster switching to left-back.

Long-term absentee Dave Winfield will step up his recovery by resuming full training this week following knee and groin problems.

Striker Matt McClure is still a long way from full fitness after dislocating his ankle.

Mark Yates has confirmed he will make several changes to his Cheltenham side.

On-loan Everton youngster Luke Garbutt will start for the Robins, as will goalkeeper Scott Brown – with Jack Butland away with England Under-21s.

And Yates has admitted there will be more alterations to the team which beat Bristol Rovers on Saturday, despite Cheltenham being injury and suspension-free.

“I’m going to be making a few changes because some of the lads deserve to play and show what they’re about,” he told the club’s official website.

“I don’t expect anyone to be happy being left out of the team but I do expect them all to be backing their team-mates and pulling in the same direction, which is what they are doing.”

Wycombe will hand a late fitness test to Andy Sandell.

The left-back – who has scored seven goals this season – picked up a knee injury in the win over Rotherham 10 days ago and he remains a concern.

Danny Foster is in line to start if required while manager Gary Waddock will have to make another change in the back four as Dave Winfield is suspended.

The centre-half begins a two-game ban after picking up his 10th booking of the season against the Millers. Alan Bennett and Leon Johnson will battle for his place.

Winger Kevin Betsy is fit again after a groin injury and striker Jon-Paul Pittman is back in the fold after months out with a knee injury.

Cheltenham could hand new loan signing Matt Green his debut. The striker has signed from Oxford until the end of the season and will compete with Wes Thomas and Jeff Goulding to start at Adams Park although, with 22 goals between Town’s current front two, Green is likely to start on the bench.

Wide man Josh Low remains a concern after pulling a muscle in training on Friday which led to him missing Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Kassam Stadium.

Defender Andy Gallinagh is looking at around three weeks on the sidelines having undergone double hernia surgery.

Fellow centre-back Martin Riley made his return from a hamstring injury at the weekend and has suffered no ill-effects.

Striker Shaun Jeffers has returned to Coventry after his six-month loan spell came to an end, meaning he will be unavailable.
