Forgotten Everton man issues statement as Middlesbrough move falls through
Yannick Bolasie has expressed his disappointment at not being able to leave Everton on deadline day.
The winger has fallen out of favour at Goodison Park in recent years, with injuries not helping his case. He spent the past two seasons on loan away from the club, at Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting CP.
Carlo Ancelotti cleared the way for Bolasie to leave Everton again this summer, and Middlesbrough were keen to sign him.
Neil Warnock managed Bolasie briefly during his time at Crystal Palace, and wanted to reunite with the 31-year-old. However, they could not get the deal done in time.
The winger has confirmed that he will not be joining Boro with a message on Twitter.
Disappointed the deal couldn’t get done in time…signed & sent off, waited till 19.00 with real hope
From my end I know I was willing to give up a lot…all I wanna do is say thank you to Neil Warnock (appreciate you so much) and wish Middlesbrough all the best this season 1/2

“But now my focus is back on Everton and continuing to work hard everyday like I have been and if I’m called upon I’ll be ready to do whatever is necessary.”
Ancelotti confident duo will be available v Liverpool
Everton’s next game is of a high magnitude, as they host rivals Liverpool.
The Toffees have been one of the early pace setters in the Premier League this season, while the Reds won the title last time around.
Ancelotti had some concerns over the fitness of two of his key players, but he is hopeful he will have them available.
