Yaya Toure: Future up in the air at Manchester City

Yaya Toure’s reunion with Roberto Mancini has been thrown into doubt with Inter Milan reportedly close to signing Sevilla star Ever Banega.

Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has consistently stated that the 32-year-old Ivory Coast international, who is entering into the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, will leave Manchester City this summer and also suggested the Serie A club were in preliminary discussions.

However, that does not seem to be the case with BBC Sport reporting that Inter have agreed a deal to sign Sevilla’s midfield maestro Ever Banega and an announcement is due in the ‘next couple of weeks’.

Banega played a starring role in Sevilla’s 3-1 win against Liverpool in the Europa League final and Mancini has openly professed his admiration of the midfielder, calling him “top quality and skillful” in a pre-match press conference.

The move is set to leave Toure on the lookout for his next destination with Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all being linked with him since the turn of the year.
