Your Says of the Day: Benteke doesn’t care; why Costa must be sold

Christian Benteke: Was spoken to by Jurgen Klopp

Also, why Newcastle need to start planning for life in the Championship, why Manuel Pellegrini is tactically inept, and why Arsenal get a raw deal from referees.

If you have anything to add on any subject, we’d love to here from you on the Your Say forums.

Should clubs sign players / coaches from rivals?

I maybe old fashioned but there was mention on the thread recently for us to consider Manuel Pellegrini as a potential new Manchester United manager and Kasper Schmeichel as a potential new keeper. I struggled with Michael Owen being a Man Utd player.

I personally don’t like us signing a player who has ever played for Liverpool and Man City, has this changed amongst fan and do you all now think it is fine?

‘Benteke has no care and belief’

I was all for getting Christian Benteke in the summer but it just hasn’t worked out. I still believe there is a proper player in there and he will be a success somewhere else but he has been a letdown. Were is the fight? He just doesn’t seem to care and has no belief. He should have 20 gaols this season with the chances he has missed. He’s a much poorer finisher then I thought. If he goes to west ham he will do well.

He just doesn’t seem to care. I know that’s not truth but he doesn’t put a shift in. Very disappointing and he’s gone. Klopp got a lot of things wrong on Sunday.

Spot on from mikus. Klopp just goes for it all the time. Its good to see but sometimes you need to bea bit more savy. At 2-0 he wanted to really kill the game and we should have. I can’t believe we lost this game. We threw it away very much like the Sunderland game.

Klopp unprofessional to have public dig at Benteke

I’m surprised Klopp dug into Benteke on the pitch, probably it was borne out of frustration in losing the game from being 2 nil up and missing some gilt edged chances to put the game out of Southampton’s reach.

The pitch in front of the crowd and the TV Camera’s is not the place for that and I suspect if Klopp could rewind he would have handled it differently.

Why Chelsea should get rid of Diego Costa

I’ve come to the conclusion that too much baggage comes with Diego Costa. He’s more trouble than he’s worth. Can he just not get on and do the thing he is paid to do which is to assist and score goals?

No, instead he is time after time having running battles with all and sundry. Furthermore he’s had his fair share of injury concerns and worryingly these have come about during critical phases in our season i.e. our Champions league games against PSG over the last two years.

I also note that he wasn’t fit for Athletico Madrid in their Champions league final 3 years ago.

Arsenal among most ‘hard done by’ in Premier League

Whenever there’s been a list compiled of incorrect decisions, it always becomes apparent that Arsenal are frequently among the most hard done by clubs, often being THE most hard done by of all. (Check out TT’s Ref Review for proof!)

It’s all good for rival fans to laugh it off with silly comments like ‘ooh, must be a conspiracy haha’ (it was actually Mourinho who publicly declared conspiracy against HIS team despite Chelsea consistently featuring among the most beneficiary of incorrect decisions) but the fact remains, Arsenal have had so many points robbed from them by incompetent or even deliberate refereeing decisions against us, that we would probably have won a title or two if all games had been referred fairly and correctly.

Good luck to Leicester, I’ll be as happy as any Leicester fan to see them clinch the title but, if we remove the +7 decisions in favour of them this season (going by teamtalks own 5 man committee) and remove the +4 decisions in favour of Tottenham, then replace the -5 decisions Arsenal have had against us, the table would look a lot different now. Not to mention the knock on effect on confidence those decisions have had throughout the season too.

This has been the case for the past 3-4 seasons. It’s nothing new.

No faith in ‘tactically inept’ Pellegrini

My faith in Manuel Pellegrini was lost after the Barca games last year – to go 4-3-3 in those games showed either how inept or arrogant tactically he is.

I respect to the man for his calm approach pre/post match – but I’d much rather have that than the egotistical Jose, LVG and Mancini’s balling of players out publicly after a bad match. But tactically he has proven time and again he is clueless.

Planning for life in the Champ at Newcastle

I don’t think people are being negative i think as each week goes by and we don’t pick up the points the confirmation of us being in the Championship next season becomes more of a reality than a nightmare

I would love it if we stayed up and kept Rafa as with a pre season and transfer window with Rafa in charge of things i 100% believe we wont be in a relegation fight next season

I agree there are winnable games, but Bournemouth and Sunderland were winnable games and we ended up with 1 point instead of 6.

If we do end up in the championship, I could see as many as 18 players being shipped out/jumping ship although i wouldnt mind seeing a partnership of Mitro and Armstrong.
Elliot, new RB, Mbemba, new CB, Mbabu, Townsend, Shelvey, Colback/new CM, Arrons, Armstrong, Mitro, Darlow, Dummet, Lacessles, Saviet, new winger, Toney

Possible West Brom striker signing

As there’s nothing to talk about (nothing good that is) there’s rumours going round about possible summer buys.

One involves a Belgian ‘wonderkid’ who’s been watched by half the Prem so I think we can forget him.

Another is Sandro Wagner a striker (12 from 28) who plays for Darmstadt.

I’ve watched him play and he’s a mixture of Rondon and Peter Crouch (he’s nearly as tall). He was a Bayern Munich youth player so can’t be that bad and would be available for next to nothing as his team are short of cash. He would suit TP cause he could probably play at LB as well!
