Eliaquim Mangala: Not wanted at Man City

Chelsea fans debate bringing in Eliaquim Mangala on loan from Man City, while Liverpool’s transfer policy is giving some a headache.

Have Your Say on these issues or anything else you want to get off your chest

Mangala not the answer

Stefan; Mangala loan to Chelsea?

No way. It would be an expensive panic loan and if he can’t cut it at city why should we be looking to snap up their rejects? That my friend is not the way to get back to a position of challenging them consistently for top honours and for me its a public admission of the slip in our expectations / ambitions.

Anyway, we have just signed Eduardo. What more do you want from our board!

Nice draw for Arsenal

Champions League: Pep given Barcalona return

Have to say, looking at the pots and seedings for the CL draw – that could have been a lot worse!

I can’t complain about that. Of all the top guns, I think I would fancy our chances against PSG, with Cavani looking very very much like a shadow of his former self.

Basel usually put up a good fight, but with the right approach they shouldn’t be taking points off of us. A good visit for Xhaka and Elneny hopefully awaits them.

And Ludogorets… Always show graft, industry and fight but again… We should be coming out thinking that we can get 10 points out of 12 from those four fixtures. And then it all comes down to how we match up with PSG on the two matchdays.

With our usual luck, I expected worse – especially with the likes of Lyon, Sporting and Gladbach in Pot 3 as well as Monaco in Pot 4 floating around.

Let’s finish the summer’s business and try and do something this season. Despite how forlorn things seem, nothing is won or lost yet…

Head-banging Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp: Ready for the transfer window to close

I feel like banging my head against a brick wall. Seriously. Klopp says that the squad needs trimming, Werner says there’s money available if Klopp wants to spend it. Why is the squad too big?

Because for years now, we have invested in the squad, rather than the team. We have loaded the squad with average players, and not addressed the real problems with the team, and we are still doing it (buying Wijnaldum instead of a DM or LB for example).

We have consistently brought in 7/8 players every window, with the sole aim of beefing up the squad,or replacing the players that haven’t done the job that they’d signed the previous summer. Now,Klopp says that the squad is too big,and seemingly,FSG agree.

Unlucky City

Last season was a good example with the Champions League. Win the group and with a little luck you can get to the semi final. Of the last 4 years I think we have had the worst draw. It doesnt matter who is manager or what players we have we never get much luck! Eg League cup Swansea away. Utd -Northampton. Says it all. But then Im ever the pessimist!

Varane to MUFC rumours

Raphael Varane: Intends to stay at Real Madrid

I like these rumours but I still don’t believe Varane would leave Madrid for United. Either way, I love José’s obsession with quality defenders and defensive solidity. As the saying goes, attack wins games, defence wins titles

Zaha has not impressed

Wilfried Zaha: On Tottenham's radar

Palace fans would riot if they sold him and considering Calhanoglu would be between £5-10 million more and is tens times the player, I would not be happy to have him at the club. Notorious for being disruptive and self obsessed, he isn’t the team player we want. He hasn’t impressed at Palace and the fact that N’Koudou is cheaper, younger and looks to be technically better then it surely would be an easy decision of who to sign.
