Your Says of the Day: Van Gaal a conman; PL gone for City

Date published: Friday 1st January 2016 2:36

Louis van Gaal: Will wave goodbye at the end of the season?

Also, the New Year concerns of a Liverpool fan, plus thoughts on Saido Berahino, Asmir Begovic and Aston Villa’s last chance.

If you have anything to add on any subject, you know what to do – post on the Your Say forum now.

Van Gaal just a conman

The conman is at it again: “Ignore December and we have improved in 2015”. Beautiful, what a guy! Let’s say ignore Moyes and that season and we are still champions of England? Delusional fool! He is conning his way through this day by day. There is no end to this misery.

Swansea on the weekend? It will be a mighty achievement if we create a chance! Or even manage a goal! Arghhhhhhhh! You are worse than Moyes, fact!

Minimum requirements for Van Gaal

If LVG wants to win over fans, he needs to win both the FA Cup and Europa League along with a top-four finish (preferably third as it would mean automatic qualification). He would have no excuse as it seems like we will spend more money as the january transfer window opens. Getting knocked out from the Europa League would be even more embarrassing in my opinion.

Concerns of a Man City fan

Fingers crossed for the League Cup, because if Pellers thinks our squad is “complete” (as said yesterday) it’s unlikely we’ll beat Arsenal to the League title. We need a third striker he’ll actually play, as he says Kelechi isn’t a number nine. We need another engine room midfielder as Fernando and Delph are rarely fit. We need a fourth centre back if VK is going to struggle all season. Hopefully Zabba and Clichy back from here on in, to give Sagna and Kolorov some well-deserved rest/rotation.

And some worries for Liverpool too

I’ve read somewhere that Rossiter, Flanagan, Sinclair and Texereia are all out of contract in the summer and are free to talk to other clubs from today. How can this be allowed to happen?

I understand that Sinclair will probably leave as he has appointed Aidy Ward as his agent and they’re looking for ridiculous money (plus I doubt the club will ever want to deal with Ward again) while I can understand the club waiting to see if Flanagan recovers fully before offering him a new contract, but I cant fathom how Rossiter and Texereia’s contracts have been allowed to run down. Rumours that City are sniffing around Rossiter too and will only have to pay 250,000 in compensation? Is this correct?

Last-chance saloon for Villa

Of all our games , this will be the turning point. If we can’t beat Sunderland, that is the end.

Harde is too cautious, we have to go for a win. He MUST start Traore, and probably Grealish, with Gestede. Lescott can play left back, and Bacuna defensive mid with Veretout and Gana.

No sympathy for Berahino

Get rid asap at the right price! He’s 22, earning a good wage, doing a job that most of us would love and if he put the effort in, other clubs would be queuing up offering a high salary and he’d probably be in the England squad ……. yet still he can’t be arsed. What a pathetic attitude to have.

He might not like playing for JP or TP, but he should still be performing for the club, for the fans and for his future. Some have said he’s wasted six months, but he’s actually put his career back about two years.

Food for thought for Begovic

Wouldn’t it be ironic if we DID finish in the top four with Bego leaving us to go to Chelsea? As it stands at the moment he would have had a better chance of playing in the Champions League with us – and he would still probably be first choice keeper and not sitting on the bench every week.
