Burger King: Cheeky name change bid

Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg have turned a bizarre offer of £5.73million to re-brand their club with the name ‘Zenit Burger King’.

The fast-food giants were ready to part with 500 million roubles to become the Europa League club’s main sponsors and sent a letter to them to declare their official interest.

The Independent translated the document and confirmed that a lowly £5.73milllion was the offer on the table for Zenit officials to consider.

However, the club responded with an emphatic ‘no’ via their official Twitter account.
