Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joked that West Ham “could not afford” him as he discussed a potential return to the Premier League return.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is rumoured to be in the market for a new frontman when the January window opens and celebrity West Ham fan James Corden wants him at the London Stadium.

The veteran Swede, who has linked with a return to former club Manchester United, was making an appearance on the Late Late Show when Corden sounded him out for a loan move to east London.

However, Zlatan was seemingly having none of it: “I’m here with my buddy James and he wants me to come to West Ham.

“But they could not afford me. Let’s put up the viewers for the James Corden Show first.”

Corden then jokingly replied: “It’s happening. We’ll figure it out. We’ll get the ball in the box with you on the end… done. Come on you Irons.”
