Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a surprise January transfer window move for veteran LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 37-year-old will be out of contract when his his contract with the MLS outfit runs out in the new year and had been linked with a shock loan return to Manchester United.
However, he recently stated that an Old Trafford reunion in January would be difficult, saying that he needs to find a “good balance between work and rest”.
Madrid, meanwhile, are hoping that the Sweden legend could be the answer to their goalscoring issues after a poor start to the season domestically, as reported by Cadena Cope.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock summer move to Juventus has left a Real with a real shortage of goals and Marcelo’s strike in the loss to Levante on Saturday ensured the club avoided a fifth successive goalless outing.
In stark contract, Zlatan has netted 22 times in just 25 appearances for Galaxy, having joined them from United at the start of the year.
The veteran frontman also played for Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona in 2009 – scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances during his time at the Nou Camp.
