Nottingham Forest boosted by new Brennan Johnson deal; second Prem transfer soon to follow

Brennan Johnson, Nottingham Forest, May 2022.

Brennan Johnson has reportedly signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest, and a second summer transfer may be soon to follow.

Forest will play their first top-flight season since the 2003/04 campaign this coming term. Naturally, they will be keen on surviving their first season back after such a long absence.

Maintaining a decent set of players will be key to their chances. Star player Johnson has been a target for some sides, including Newcastle United and Everton.

Losing him would have been a major loss, as Forest take on the Premier League.

However, they have been boosted, as the youngster has reportedly penned a new long-term deal, per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Keeping Johnson will be a massive weight off of everyone at the club’s shoulders. He has shown in his short time playing senior football that he is a very capable player.

Making 13 appearances for Wales at his young age shows the wise head and skillset he possesses.

During Forest’s promotion campaign last time out, Johnson was Forest’s top scorer. He notched 16 goals and provided nine assists, as well as scoring twice in the playoffs.

Clearly, he is a massive asset, and the club will be hoping he can continue to perform in the Premier League.

Johnson committing his long-term future to the club is massive for Forest. He, and the club, will surely have the desire to maintain form in the top flight for years to come.

New Forest signing soon to join Brennan Johnson

Dean Henderson, Man Utd v Middlesbrough February 2022

Forest have already made one acquisition this summer, that of Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi. They are not too far from another deal, too, per Romano.

The transfer insider revealed that Dean Henderson will ‘be signed soon’. Indeed, Brice Samba is likely heading out of the door, and a good replacement will be needed.

Henderson seems the perfect man for Forest. He has hardly gotten a sniff at Man United of late, playing just three games in the entirety of last season.

A move to newly-promoted Forest gives him a chance of getting back into consistent action, and getting his career back on track following a difficult period of late.

While Forest are clearly a decent side, Henderson will surely be called into action a fair bit, and he should be able to get fully back into the swing of things.
