Nottingham Forest moves continue as Reds strike deal to bring ex-Premier League man back to England

Djibril Sidibe, Gerard Deulofeu, Everton v Watford, February 2020

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of bringing former Everton man Djibril Sidibe back to the Premier League in yet another summer move, per reports.

Forest have been one of the busier sides in the Premier League in the summer window. Indeed, they have seen as many as 16 new faces walk through the door so far.

Their spending as yet totals more than £130million. It seems they are not yet done with adding to the squad, either.

Reports over moves for a number of players are still circling, including Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.

Another star who may soon walk through the door is Frenchman Sidibe. Foot Mercato reports that the right-back has agreed a contract with Forest.

There had been reports recently that he may have been heading to one of Fulham or West Ham.

However, it seems Forest have won the race for the World Cup winner.

Sidibe’s last action came for Monaco, last season. However, his contract ran down, and he became a free agent during the summer.

As such, Forest will be able to snap him up free of charge.

His contract at the City Ground will reportedly run for one season, with a second season optional.

Sidibe experience should serve Forest well

Sidibe is an experienced footballer, having played more than 350 games in his professional career. What’s more, the 30-year-old played 25 times in the Premier League for Everton two seasons ago.

As such, his experience should be a good asset for Forest. Indeed, the Reds have a number of players in their squad with little to no top-flight experience.

The fact that Sidibe would be the 17th addition to their squad this summer may be cause for concern. Adding so many players to the squad at once could mean a lot of players struggle to gel together.

With that being said, they have not had too many problems as yet. Indeed, Forest have picked up points in two of their three Premier League games so far, as well as winning to advance to the next round of the Carabao Cup.

Indeed, the new signings are serving them well so far, and adding more players could mean that continues.
