Nottingham Forest join Everton in race to sign pricey Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis

Watford ace Emmanuel Dennis

Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest have reportedly joined Everton in the race to sign pacy Watford winger Emmanuel Dennis.

The Nigeria attacker has been strongly tipped to head north to Goodison Park this summer, with Dennis identified as a potential replacement for Richarlison after the Brazilian’s big-money switch to Tottenham.

However, the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones reports that Forest have now joined the race for 24-year-old.

The report claims that Forest ‘are exploring a deal at this stage’, having already spent £70million this summer.

Jones said: “The ambitious City Ground club have already spent in excess of £70million on new players and haven’t finished there as they look to strengthen their midfield and attack.”

“A number of clubs including Everton and Villarreal have been credited with interest. And Watford want around £25million for the 24-year old.”

The Hornets paid just £3m to sign Dennis from Club Brugge last summer.

The forward scored 29 goals in 116 appearances for the Belgian club and did well in a struggling Watford side.

Dennis heroics not enough in Watford slide

Dennis notched up 10 goals and added six assists in 33 Premier League outings last season. However, his performances could not stop the Vicarage Road outfit from beating the drop.

The versatile winger, who can also play through the middle, would give extra firepower to Forest or Everton if he was to sign.

However, the £25m asking price may be a little steep for both clubs.

It may be a case of waiting until later in the window to see if the player’s price drops as Watford look to cash in.
