Sources: Nottingham Forest successful in tying down key star as Joe Worrall agrees new contract

Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall has received an offer to leave
Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement in principle with captain Joe Worrall over a new contract, TEAMtalk understands.
Worrall entered the final year of his contract at the City Ground earlier this summer and Forest are keen to secure his future on a new long-term deal. Talks between Worrall and club officials have been positive and TEAMtalk has been told the Forest skipper has agreed to extend his stay with the Reds.
The 26-year-old, who is a product of the Forest academy, last signed a new deal with the club in 2020.
Worrall made 34 appearances across all competitions last term and played a key role as Forest secured Premier League survival in their first season back in the top flight.
The Nottingham-born defender has made over 215 appearances for Forest and has established himself as a key man in Steve Cooper’s plans despite an influx of new arrivals in the last 12 months.
Tying down Worrall to fresh terms will come as a welcome boost to Forest as they want to establish themselves in the Premier League for the long run.
Meanwhile, Forest may have to fend off interest in one of their biggest stars as West Ham are reportedly pursuing him.
