Stoke City have offered former Tottenham and Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah a deal at the bet365 Stadium after he impressed on trial, TEAMtalk understands.

Onomah has been training with Stoke for the last week as he looks to fix himself up with a new club after leaving Preston North End earlier this summer. The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season at Preston after terminating his contract with Fulham.

The all-action midfielder made 13 Championship appearances for Preston and picked up one assist.

Onomah has done enough during his training stint with the Potters to be offered a deal by Stoke boss Alex Neil, TEAMtalk has been told.

Stoke have given Onomah the opportunity to pen a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months and the player is expected to accept the offer to join the club.

Onomah is a versatile midfielder who can play in almost any role in the middle of the park and he will add an extra option to Neil’s squad this season.

Onomah played a big part in Fulham’s successful promotion campaign in 2021-22 and has plenty of experience at Championship level.
