Antonio Conte ‘far from opposed’ to specific Tottenham exit route as contact received

Fabio Paratici is not the only figure Tottenham Hotspur could lose to Paris Saint-Germain, as reports now indicate the French giants have made contact with head coach Antonio Conte.

Recent reports claimed PSG were looking at Tottenham managing director Paratici as a potential successor to Leonardo. After elimination from the Champions League, there is pressure on a few figures in the French capital.

Leonardo could lose his job and be succeeded by Paratici, who only began his work with Tottenham last summer. Conte recently refused to speak on Paratici’s behalf, but has now become the topic of the same rumour.

According to Calciomercato, PSG have identified Conte as a coach who could take them to a higher level than Mauricio Pochettino can. The former Tottenham boss is under pressure in Paris and could make way for one of his Spurs successors.

It is claimed that contact has already been made with Conte, who has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave Tottenham at the end of the season.

The club will try to convince him otherwise and keep him for the other season that he signed up for. However, there has already been a building feeling of discontent with the Spurs situation.

Tottenham target Arturo Vidal set for meeting

Tottenham target Arturo Vidal is poised to hold talks over his future later in March.

Conte has denied it in public, but actions speak louder than words. Therefore, it will be worth keeping an eye on PSG’s situation to see whether they can convince him to quit Tottenham one year ahead of schedule.

The report claims Conte finds the PSG project very intriguing. They have plenty of money to spend and want to reach the top of European football, even if they have failed to this season.

Rumours of Conte to PSG escalating

Per Calciomercato, Conte is “far from opposed” to the idea of taking charge of PSG. His decision would become clear in the summer.

Tottenham have struggled to find the right man for the job in recent years themselves. Losing Conte would be a blow, forcing them to start from scratch again.

And if Paratici is to depart as well – which other sources have denied – they would be back to square one. However, both men remain under contract with the club for the time being.

This is not the first time recently that Conte has been linked with PSG. Earlier this week, it was claimed that he was on a long list of potential Pochettino replacements.

Also said to be in contention were Zinedine Zidane, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, Ajax’s Erik Ten Hag, Juventus’ Max Allegri, Inter’s Simone Inzaghi and Spezia’s Thiago Motta.

But the latest from Calciomercato indicates they are making progress on the Conte front. What’s more, his own stance on the potential change is starting to become more clear.
