Brutal confirmed exit unlocks long-awaited Tottenham transfer with offer on table

Multiple sources are suggesting that Nice have made an offer to Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after ripping up the contract of Kasper Schmeichel.
Since Tottenham signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, former captain Lloris has been given permission to search for a new club. It initially looked like he would be joining Lazio, but a lack of guarantees about regular gametime caused that move to collapse.
On deadline day, there have been some conflicting claims about a move to Newcastle, which appears to be a non-subject. Instead, a more concrete option for Lloris could be with Nice.
The Ligue 1 outfit have announced on Friday that they have terminated the contract of Schmeichel, just a year after he left Leicester City to join them.
Schmeichel struggled to win over Nice, who have quickly moved on from him as their no.1. Next, they could make a move to bring Lloris back to the club.
Nice are Lloris’ hometown team and the club where he commenced his career. After three years in their first team, he went to Lyon in 2008, and four years later came his move to Spurs.
Now, he could retrace his steps after sources such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph indicated that Lloris has an offer on the table from his former employers.
Lloris making decision about Nice return
That said, whether he accepts the move or not is still up for question. The 36-year-old is said to be still making his final decision.
As for Schmeichel, who is also 36, where he ends up next remains a mystery.
Back in June, when Lloris admitted his desire for a new challenge, he said: “Nice is my city, my club, my roots.
“There is a season that must end, as best as possible, with the goalkeepers in place. I am not demanding, I have never forced things. We’ll see where fate takes me.”
