Unimpressed Conte ‘ready to ditch’ costly star as Tottenham look to ruin Arsenal transfer plan

Tottenham are reportedly leading the chase to sign Torino star Wilfried Singo – and are looking to beat rivals Arsenal to his signature.
Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have their work cut out if they are to get Spurs upwardly mobile again. Indeed, Tottenham have been dogged by inconsistency of late, which threatens to derail their season. A recent 1-0 defeat at Burnley had Conte causing alarm with some very worrying claims on his future.
That appeared to spark a much-needed response in a 4-0 thumping at Leeds. However, Tuesday’s dismal 1-0 exit in the FA Cup at Middlesbrough closed another trophy avenue for Spurs.
Conte, however, was slightly more reserved as he picked the bones out of their loss.
The match at the Riverside saw summer signing Emerson Royal once again start on the bench. And while he came off the bench in the 81st minute, he appears to now be behind Matt Doherty in the pecking order.
Indeed, speculation has recently claimed Conte is looking for an upgrade on Royal. The Brazilian has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League since a £25m move from Barcelona. He has put in several sub-par performances, leading Conte to already ask for a replacement.
Ivorian watched on ‘countless occasions’
And while he failed to bring in anyone new in the position in January, CBS reports Spurs are now on the trail of Singo.

Son Heung-min calls out Spurs teammates and says they need more passion for Tottenham
Son Heung-min has said Spurs players need to do more and be more passionate about Tottenham for them to succeed with Antonio Conte
They report they have watched the Ivorian on ‘countless occasions’ this season and are plotting a summer move for his services.
Furthermore, with his contract due to expire in summer 2023, Torino are reportedly willing to sell for just £15m.
At 21 years of age, Singo looks a decent option for Spurs. In 26 appearances this season, he has three goals and four assists. That represents a decent tally for a side in 11th place.
Arsenal, Liverpool also looking at Wilfried Singo
Spurs, however, are not alone in their admiration for the full-back.
Indeed, the report from CBS outlines interest in the player from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
Liverpool are said to be keen as they seek cover and competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
However, it is the Gunners who are seemingly most keen.
The report claims they want Singo as a replacement for Cedric Soares, who looks likely to leave this summer.
And it’s claimed Mikel Arteta sees the player as someone who can keep summer 2021 signing Takehiro Tomiyasu on his toes.
However, it is Spurs who appear most keen with Conte seriously looking to strengthen the right side of his defence.
