Euro Paper Talk: Contract details revealed as Tottenham prepare £60m offer for classy Inter Milan midfielder; new Adama Traore suitor emerges

Gianluca Caprari, Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco

Tottenham are ready to make a £60million offer to sign a classy Inter midfielder to a lucrative five-year deal, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Newcastle are ready to step up their efforts to land a bargain Bundesliga forward in the January window.

Tottenham are reportedly ready to make a move for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella in the January window as they look set to miss out on Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Antonio Conte had targeted the latter as another option for his midfield engine room. However, it appears that Juventus are now closing in on the Serbia international.

That has forced Conte to look elsewhere and the Italian has turned to his club for a potential midfield upgrade.

Inter Live claims that Spurs are very much in the mix for Italy international Barella.

The report goes on to add that sporting director of football Fabio Paratici could be set to offer €70m (£60.2m) for the Nerazzurri star.

Tottenham are also willing to offer the 25-year-old a five-year contract with a salary of €8m (£6.8m) per season.

Spurs need to strengthen in other areas

All those figures sound a little fanciful for a position that Spurs are actually quite strong in.

First-choice pair Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur are a solid pairing, although summer signing Yves Bissouma has struggled to hit anything like the form he showed at Brighton.

Conte is also a big fan of what Oliver Skipp brings in terms of being the better passer of the quartet.

Tottenham are more in need of another centre-back, a creative playmaker and a right wing-back.

The latter of those positions could well be filled by another Inter star in the shape of Denzel Dumfries.
