Euro Paper Talk: Tottenham accelerate talks to sign game-changing wing-back in January; PSG in shock £30m raid for Man Utd midfielder

Tottenham have stepped up their interest in signing a new right wing-back who impressed against them twice in the Champions League this season, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims PSG are ready to cough up £30million to sign a Manchester United midfielder.
SPURS STEP UP BID TO LAND SPORTING STAR
Sporting Lisbon are reportedly demanding a €35million (£30m) fee if they are to sanction the sale of Pedro Porro, who continues to be linked with a switch to Tottenham.
Portuguese news outlet O Jogo claims Spurs are prepared to make a move for the right wing-back during the January transfer window and that negotiations have accelerated for the player who has a release clause of €45m (£39.4m).
And while the north London club will not have to reach that figure, they are still keen on investing in another right-sided defender after failing with their last couple of additions.
First-choice Emerson Royal continues to be an enigma. The Brazilian is capable of putting in solid performances but is more often found wanting, especially against the better sides.
Summer signing Djed Spence hasn’t even been given the chance to show what he can, with Conte not impressed with what he is producing in training.
That leaves Matt Doherty as the main alternative, although the Republic of Ireland star is not great defensively. He does, however, have a goal in him and is also capable of playing on the left, which makes him a valuable squad member for Conte.
Dynamic Porro an immediate upgrade for Tottenham
As for Porro, the Spain international was on loan at Sporting from Manchester City for two years before making his move permanent in the summer.
The 23-year-old actually faced Spurs twice in the Champions League this season and seemingly impressed Conte in both games.
His attacking play has particularly stood out this season, Indeed, Porro has notched nine assists and a goal in 20 appearances in all competitions for Sporting this term.
That sort of output would give Tottenham an immediate upgrade in a key position for Conte, who wants to get much more out of his wing-backs than he’s been getting.
PSG PLOTTING SURPRISE MAN UTD RAID
PSG are planning a shock move for Man Utd midfielder Fred even though the Red Devils have activated a 12-month extension clause in his contract. The Brazilian is currently valued at £30million.
